I decided in July that I would start doing videos about them (until I get bored of that too I guess :/) but something happened with my camera and my SD card that it just didn't work out!

So I am now doing it in August. Because I get so many different boxes I have to do a few "parts", here is part one including Julep Maven, Sircle Samples, MyGlam & Birchbox.

I have tried quite a few of the items I have received and maybe I will do some reviews here. Let me know what you think! Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038989276600338352.post-82002528966083402582012-06-19T11:08:00.000-07:002012-06-19T11:08:03.161-07:00Real Techniques on sneakpeeq! If you guys haven't heard of sneakpeeq yet, you should definitely sign up! I have only been a member for about a week and I have already made 7 purchases (got my first one yesterday)!

Basically they offer sales everyday, not like a Hautelook type thing really but you have to go to the site and "peeq" at the sale. Usually they have jewelry, clothing, food items, housing items, and they're all pretty unique things.

Today they're showcasing the real technique brushes which we all know is made/crated by Samantha of pixiwoo. One set was 26% off and one was 11% off. I love these brushes, they're some of my go to brushes in my kit so I jumped on the opportunity to pick them up!

As you peeq at things, you earn badges which then earn you discounts, free shipping, etc. I got free shipping on my real technique brushes just for peeqing at one price. Definitely worth it!

So you get 20 "peeqs" a day and if you like it, you can buy it and if not, move on. They send me emails everyday telling me what's new and I think its a fun way to shop. There is no price to join or obligation to buy, but if you like deals, you should definitely sign up!

Leave me a comment if you signed up, what you purchased (if anything) or if you already had an account and purchased from them before! This site is addicting.Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038989276600338352.post-18798874513229949062012-05-09T09:08:00.000-07:002012-05-09T09:08:34.184-07:00April Giveaway Winner! It is time for the April giveaway winner, woo!! I don't always have time to do a full review on every product so this will be a nice way to showcase them!

Hits:

BANANAS & BAOBABS Whipped Shea Butter Body Creme - This smells sooooo good, however, it is really thick and greasy so I only apply it before bed.

Befine Food Skin Care Night Cream - I really like this to put on before I go to bed. I wake up with my skin feeling incredibly soft, however, I probably wouldn't purchase a full size.

Essie Polish in "As Gold As It Gets" - I LOVED this. It looked gorgeous over butter London Trout Pout!

Mini Color Club Polish in Jackie Oh! - So pretty, have this on my toes and it makes me feel like I am at a summer beach club!

Steve Madden Military Satchel - Mmmm, I just love this way too much!!

Misses:

Tarte LipSurgence in Lucky - I was so excited to try one of these but disappointed to see that it was a matte one. I wasn't a fan of the texture. The color doesn't look good on me in my opinion and it settled into the lines of my lips. I did however purchase another one that wasn't matte and love it!!

NYX Za Za Zu Mascara - I have never really been a fan of NYX mascaras and this isn't any different. This didn't do anything for my lashes.

Miss Jessie's® Original Quick Curls - I was really excited to try this, I thought it would hold down my frizz and make my hair look fabulous. Quite the opposite. It weighed my hair down so bad and my hair was greasy within an instant. I usually can get away with washing my hair every 3rd day and I had to wash my hair the next day with this. I am not a fan of anything in my hair anyways so this just missed it completely for me!

Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Peel Mask - Disappointment, I feel like it didn't do anything for my skin. I was excited to try it since I heard a lot of people loved it but not me.

I prefer the QVC version much better.

Here is what I got in my tube:

Lets go through each individual item:

StriVectin-SD Intensive Concentrate - $13.50

I have heard AMAZING things about this product so I am excited to try it, even though I don't have wrinkles. The full size price is $135 though so I would never purchase a full size.

St. Tropez Everyday Body Moisturizer Gradual Tan in Medium/Dark - $11.19

I enjoy not being tan or using self tanning creams so this is something I would never use. I am putting this in the April giveaway!

Tarte LipSurgence™ Natural Lip Luster in Fever - $24.00

I was a bit hesitant to try this on because I am not a huge red person but I love this, so gorgeous on. Also, when I swatched it, it looked like glitter city so I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't translate onto the lips.

WEN by Chaz Dean Cucumber Aloe Cleansing Conditioner - $9.28

I am just not a fan of this stuff. I got some in a MyGlam bag and it felt like my head was on fire and it didn't do anything for my hair. This will be in the April giveaway!

Peter Thomas Roth Laser-Free™ Regenerator™ Moisturizing Gel-Cream - $34.00

I was going to use this, until I opened it. It smells like straight up plastic, SO gross. I will give this to my mom since she likes these kinds of things.

Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash - $7.16

I have never really been into face wash, or buying special brands. That is one thing I love about these types of subscriptions, they always bring me to try new things. Usually when I would get excited about something, I would run out and buy a bunch to try, but with these programs, I have them already and in tiny versions. I have been obsessed with face washes lately so super excited to try this, specially since I have heard great things about bliss!

Philosophy Amazing Grace Bath, Shampoo & Shower Gel - $2.75

I just can't get into Philosophy products, they just don't appeal to me ): This will also be in the April giveaway!

Mally Evercolor Shadow Stick in Twilight - $25.00

This thing is amazing. It really reminds me of the Maybelline color tattoos, as it stays on forever. I swatched it on my hand and after washing my hands (not scrubbing it off, just washing normally) several times, it didn't budge. I don't know why you would buy this over the color tattoos, maybe because this one is in the stick form, but its AWESOME!!

The breakdown:
Box: QVC NewBeauty Test Tube April-June (Second Quarter) 2012
Price: $29.96 every 3 months (not including shipping)
Monetary Value: $126.88
Keeping subscription?: Yes.

I think this is easy to justify since it comes out every 3 months and you always get over 3 times the amount you paid. It has a nice variety of higher end and somewhat lower end. It's a great subscription!!Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038989276600338352.post-14939282107438378442012-04-23T09:29:00.000-07:002012-04-23T16:52:05.902-07:00MyGlam April 2012Looks like MyGlam took some advice from their ever so forgiving customers and brought us a bag worth a little more than 2 sample packets! I am not a fan of the actual bag itself, it is a metallic pink which reminds me of the 80s or early 90s but I am typically never a fan of the actual bag. They're just cheesy to me!

Here is what I go in my box(bag):

Lets go through each individual item:

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in Junkie - $12.66

Price is calculated against the price of a full size. I have never really been a fan of these pencils. They're very pretty and I can wear them as liner, I just don't find that they last as long on me as everyone says they do. This is a pretty color, looks like glitter vomited in a turquoise color so I will use it but I won't be replacing them with my all time favorite.

MyGlam All-Over Eyeshadow Brush & Eyeliner Brush - $??

I am a brush hoarder so these are always welcomed!

DermStore Lip Quench Moisture-Infusion Lip Treatment - $12.00

I can never get enough lip treatments, specially in the summer. This smells like fruit of some sort and it is super moisturizing.

All-Belle False Eyelashes - $2.00

Not sure about the price on these since no one really has prices. The only price I could find was ebay. I am just now falling in love with lashes since I have figured out how to put them on without them looking terrible so I am excited for these.

The breakdown:
Bag: MyGlam April 2012
Price: $10.00
Keeping subscription?: Yes.

Price does not include the brushes, since there isn't really any information on them. I appreciate all the make up this month and I will definitely get use of all of them this month!!Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038989276600338352.post-9657716747371417842012-04-22T08:38:00.000-07:002012-04-22T08:38:38.887-07:00Birchbox April 2012 - 2My second BirchBox for April was also pretty good!

Here is what was inside:

Lets go through each individual item:

willa™ Lavender Facial Towelettes - $2.33

I am always up to trying new facial wipes, I just hope they don't turn out like the ones I got in another BB. I am not much of a fan of lavender though. The packaging is cute!!

J.R. Watkins Hand & Cuticle Salve - $0.95

I was my hands A LOT so my cuticles are always messed up, excited to try this. I have heard nothing but great things about J.R. Watkins.

Wonderstruck Taylor Swift - $0.70

I actually have a full size of this and since the one from my other BB will be in the giveaway, I will just keep this in my sample box. I do like the scent, but I think on me and my skin, it doesn't smell as great.

Zoya TRUE Spring Collection in Bevin - $4.00

I love Zoya and this color is no exception, I always welcome Zoya in my BB!

Dropps Laundry Detergent - $0.60

WOW, I did not realize until I posted this blog that the value doesn't even add up to what I paid for it. That is kind of annoying. I am in love with Zoya though so that kind of puts a glaze over my eyes but REALLY BB!? Not even worth $10!?Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038989276600338352.post-6893011650572951222012-04-21T10:00:00.000-07:002012-04-23T16:52:05.467-07:00OTM, April now available!!Each month, GDE will release a new color (it may be a shadow, an eye light, or something else extra special) and people who subscribe to this "OTM" service will get the first chance to see it. The new color will be posted on the 15th of each month. For those who have a subscription, your new color will ship on the 10th of the month (or before), so if you're in the US, you can possibly get a sneak peek of the color. After subscriptions are sent out, the rest will be up for sale on the 15th.

The catch is, that only 100 of each color will be made a month. So if there are 56 subscription members, then only 44 of those colors will be sold individually. If you're subscribed each month, you won't have to worry about not being able to get the next color. I am offering a 3 month and a 6 month, just because I don't know how well it will go. I am not offering monthly or yearly because I don't want to get too far ahead of myself.

Subscriptions must be paid for up front. So you're paying up front for 3 or 6 months worth of shadow.

April 2012s color is called "Hippy Party Girl".

It is a very vibrant blue with aqua sparkles.

This month we collaborated with vegan youtube guru cosmeticcouturier to bring you a shadow that is unlike any color you would think to be "vegan". Who says that vegan has to be boring browns? And who says that blue is a no go color!?

Grace is known for her stance on animal testing and vegan rights. She is a huge part of Glamour Doll Eyes and we love her!

With this color, you will also receive a sample of our vegan primer which we are currently testing out. Don't forget to leave us your feedback on it!

You can sign up for the subscription here, or just pick up the shadow for $6.00Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038989276600338352.post-81507556703027295582012-04-21T09:13:00.000-07:002012-04-21T09:13:16.921-07:00Birchbox April 2012 - 1I am so incredibly happy with BirchBox this month and I had a feeling I would be unhappy. For me, they seem to be a hit, then a miss, then a hit, then a miss and since last month was so awesome, I wasn't expecting much. Alas, BB surprised me. Next month is also going to be AMAZING because they're partnering with Gossip Girl and I am secretly a tween on the inside and am a die hard Gossip Girl fan!! UHM, CHAIR ALL THE WAY!!! Anyways..

Here is what was inside:

Lets go through each individual item:

MicrodermaMitt® Body Mitt - $28.50

I am interested in trying this, it does seem a bit rough though. It might soften up a little once wet but its an interesting concept!

Wonderstruck Taylor Swift - $0.70

I actually have a full size of this so I am putting this in the April giveaway. I do like the scent, but I think on me and my skin, it doesn't smell as great.

Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream - $1.28

Another promising skin cream, I will try it of course.

Marula – The Leakey Collection™ Omega Rich Pure Marula Oil - $??

I am not sure if I will try this yet. While I don't have oily skin, I am little worried about trying it. I tend to have dry skin but have since gotten my face to be pretty moisturized, I am worried that if I try this, it will make my skin oily.

tarte LipSurgence™ lip tint in Joy - $24.00

After I received one of these in my March Teen Vogue box, I went right out and purchased Joy. I LOVE IT!! But since I already have the color, I am trading this for Amused, which is one that I really like. Joy is a gorgeous color though, don't be fooled by the bright orange!!

Very happy and SO looking forward to May's box. Almost contemplating getting a 3rd box, that is how much I love Gossip Girl! My bag came later than a lot of people's as I stated in my original post and I was reading on the MyGlam wall that a lot of people really loved the mask, which also made me more excited to try it! Here is my review:

Let me show you some pictures of the product and images of me doing it:

Right after I put it on, my face was all shiny.

The mouth area started to peel first, which seems to be common on most peel masks.

After.

A picture I posted on Instagram, if you can't tell, I don't like this product.

This ever so fun mask gently peels away impurities while Cucumber extract leaves skin silky smooth. Perfect for normal to combination skin.

Packaging (3/5):
Eh, it's like most face mask packaging. I wish it was in a tub but its not really a deal breaker. I just feel like if you don't get enough the first time, you have to go back and when you pick up the tube, it will be all slippery and inconvenient.

Product (1/5):
I am giving this a 1 just because it did make my skin soft. Other than that, I think it's terrible. I know a lot of people like it and I know a lot of people love it, this is my personal experience. I don't consider myself to have sensitive skin, however, I don't do much to it. I wash it once in a while and I don't tug or do excessive application to it but this mask BURNED. It burned my skin, it burned my eyes and even breathing it in burnt my nostrils. It is not a feeling that I liked but I kept it on as long as I could. My face was soft, as I said and it was fun peeling it off (like I was a kid with glue) but that's all it had going for itself.

Application (2/5):
The mask itself was gooey and really cold. I am guessing that is the cooling sensation that you're supposed to feel. The application itself was easy (take out of tube, smear on face, not too hard right?) I just didn't like the feeling of the gel.

Price (2.5/5):
Another thing this mask has going for itself is the price. It is only $3.99, but I gave it a 2.5 since I don't like it so it's not a good price for me, but it could be a good price for you.

Overall (2.125/5):
I did not like this and I will not repurchase it, ever.

They have a nice variety of colors (neutrals and pinks all the way to yellow, blue and green).

I placed my order on February 28th, I ordered 3 of their Lip Lipsticks. My total came to $26.96 after shipping. I received a shipping notification on March 6th and I received my package on the 9th of March.

Before I get into the review and more specifics, let me show you some pictures:

J'Adore Les Levres tubes are VERY VERY pigmented. They glide on with a rich creamy texture and a soft french vanilla flavor. Lightly blot for a liquid lipstick look or build up for a more glossy shine.
TUBE SIZE: 0.37oz / 10.5 g Comes with a slanted applicator tip.

Packaging (1/5):
I like a slant doe foot tube in general but for this specific product, it's a huge downfall. Since these are so incredibly pigmented and have a huge Mica influence, they're EXTREMELY hard to get out of the tube. REALLY hard, my fingers hurt after trying to get it out. Some may think it's worth it, but I don't. I like ease.

Product (3/5):
The texture of these are awesome, somewhat of a matte feeling but very silky. However, I find that they settle into the lines of my lips and they're not super moisturizing. The colors are gorgeous. My favorites are Willa and Ukulele but again, since there is so much mica, there should be something to counter act so that it will moisturize a little more.

Longevity (4/5):
They lasted a few hours on me.

Price (3/5):
I am giving this a 3 because for $7.99 each, I shouldn't have to break a finger to get it out. This might be knit picky of me but that is what a review is for.

Overall (2.75/5):
I would not purchase any more of these unfortunately.

I will also tell you what I thought about each product and so on.

Since I don't really have the items anymore in most cases, I am not going to show all the pictures. I will use the pictures from their website and just list what I received.

Hi there,

This month, in honor of Earth Day, we’ve partnered with our friends at EcoFabulous and greened our box, inside and out. It’s not just about a single day, though – April is a reminder that we should be mindful of our environment year-round. Here’s how we’re celebrating:

Waste Less, Love More

Birchbox helps you discover beauty products you love — no more beauty graveyard of unused purchases. This month, meet earth-friendly products; from skincare to nail polish, these treats show that eco can be effective and chic.

Recycle & Reuse

Every bit of Birchbox packaging, from the tissue to this letter, is recyclable — this month and every month! Many members also repurpose Birchboxes to store jewelry, makeup, and other tidbits. We’d love to hear how you reuse your boxes.

Healthy Body, Healthy Planet

Online, we have tons of articles and videos to inspire you to be more mindful about what you buy and how you use it. Check out what products Zem Joaquin, founder of EcoFabulous, can't live without, or learn how to get beachy waves with our video tutorial. Plus, an easy guide to reading product labels and much more.

PS - You’re holding a carbon neutral Birchbox! We offset the emissions of shipping this box and will continue to do so going forward.

Hayley, Katia, and the Birchbox team
I remember there was so much controversy with this box because of the shipping. This is when most of the major shipping problems happened and even though some people really like(d) streamlite, a lot of people didn't. This box took forever to get to most people and for being "green" there was a lot of waste.

1. Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Full Strength - Full Size: $45.00
I never used this and I remember this being one of the items I was really excited about. I don't know where it went or why I didn't use it.

2. Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer - Full Size: $65.00
I honestly don't remember getting this, it must have been a little sachet or something.

3. Lavanila The Healthy Body Butter in Vanilla Lavender - Full Size: $25.00
I didn't use this either, I don't like Lavender and I remembered a lot of people got the coconut one, I wish I had gotten this one.

4. LIV GRN C2C Fragrance Collection in Earth - Full Size: $60.00
This smelt ok, but it wasn't something I ever used.

5. Zoya Intimate Nail Polish Collection - Full Size: $8.00
I received Jules from this collection and really enjoyed it. I love Zoya and since have purchased several from them!

So those are the items I got in my second BB from April 2011. Hope you enjoyed!Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038989276600338352.post-24723218546130454832012-04-15T11:18:00.000-07:002012-04-15T11:18:00.589-07:00Julep Maven Review (March Classic with a Twist)!I am actually quite surprised with the results of this months Julep Maven, as I thought I would like one color more than the other and it was actually the opposite. In March I went with the Classic with a Twist because it sounded interesting, you can see that original post here.

Before I get into the review and more specifics, let me show you some pictures:

Used Skull & Glossbones from OPI as the base and Zoya Miley on my middle finger. Then put Jennifer on top of all of that.

I thought Jennifer was going to be my favorite but the next day, I saw this. The color was off my finger tips. I don't know why, how or if it was because of something else but I have never had that problem before.

I ended up taking it off the next day and putting something else on.

Butter London Trout Pout from my Little Black Bag, Jennifer from Julep Maven on my middle finger and Essie As Gold as It Gets from my TV Birchbox over Trout Pout.

Took 3 coats to get it that opaque.

One week later.

Professional quality “4-free” nail polish formulation, developed without carcinogens such as formaldehyde or formaldehyde resin, toluene and DBP. Shine on! $1 will be donated to organizations that support women through our Powered by Girlfriends program.
Packaging (3/5):
I have 2 gripes with the packaging, hence the 3 instead of a 5. One, would be that the lid doesn't line up with the jar when I tighten the jar (someone did give me a solution for this, the lids come off the actual twisty part, like a butter london polish, yet this is just extra work). This could be from me over tightening it, but I like my polishes to not dry out, specially for $14 a pop. Second, is the super small brush. I feel like I am really spoiled with OPI's brushes because they're super wide, and that is what I prefer. If you like small brushes then it won't be an issue for you of course.

Product (3/5):
I was surprised with Brooke. I thought that one would be my favorite. It looks pretty on, almost like a purple flakey, gives a gorgeous purple sparkle to the nail but it just didn't work out for me. I did love Jennifer though, which is funny because I was more excited for Brooke. I don't typically like pink polish on me, I think my skin is too light or something but this was nice. It did take 3 coats to get it opaque but if you want just a nice pretty pink wash, one coat is great.

Longevity (4/5):
I am giving this one a 4 because I took Brooke off the next day so I can't really say the longevity but as you can tell, Jennifer lasted a week, and would probably last longer if I didn't change my polish so much.

Price (2.5/5):
I am going to compare these to my 3 favorite brands, which I own a ton of and buy on a regular basis. First, we have OPI - 0.5 FL oz for $8.50, then we have Zoya - 0.5 FL oz for $8.00. Next, we have Butter London - 0.4 FL oz for $14.00 (which I only usually buy as "rewards" or special treatment). Now, the typical price of a Julep Maven polish is $14.00 for 0.27 FL oz. That is right, a little under half of MOST of these polishes for way more money. Even Butter London, which is AWESOME has a better value. The price is nowhere near "affordable" however, I do feel that they may have some unique colors.

Overall (3.125/5):
A little disappointed with this months colors but you can't win them all. We did get an oil with this month and I use it in with my lotion and it makes my skin so moisturized and smooth.

There are TONS of coupon codes running around for getting your Julep Maven box at only 1 penny so if you want to try them, I would suggest it!Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038989276600338352.post-25308261090773363102012-04-14T08:27:00.023-07:002012-04-14T08:27:01.027-07:00Sample Society April 2012Another month of Sample Society. This is their second box, seems to be all skincare again ):

They also give you a $15 credit to use in the store for any of the brands that you have in your box, however, I don't feel that it is that useful if you don't want anything from these specific brands.

I was hesitant to use this because it's supposed to "regulate" oil levels and I don't have oily skin. I trusted BirchBox's judgement as they know I have dry skin so I thought I would give it a try.

Before I get into the review and more specifics, let me show you some pictures:

The French all seem to have one thing in common: perfect skin. Maybe it’s in their genes, but we suspect their savvy skincare regimes deserve equal credit. Behold this unisex moisturizer, a favorite of hip Parisian girls and guys, which hasn’t been available stateside until now. It’s made with an all-natural blend of botanicals to leave skin soft and matte.
Packaging (3/5):
Even though I know this isn't BB fault but this is tiny. I have enough for 2.75 uses. Yes, not even 3 full uses and for a face cream, that's not enough to actually get a feel for the product. The tube itself felt really low and once you got to the end of the bottle, it was hard to get any of the product out so you really have to make it stretch.

Product (1/5):
I hope I don't sound nit picky but I didn't like this product at all. First off, its white. Might not be a big deal to many people but if you accidentally get too much, you're really going to have to work to get this white film blended into your face. The first day everything with this was fine but I noticed that my nose was a little shiny. Didn't think anything of it. The second day again, shiny but nothing too major. The 3/4 of the time I got the use it, my nose was covered in oil. It was really gross. I normally have really dry skin and this did the exact opposite. I would touch my nose and just feel the oil on it.

Longevity (1/5):
I should give it a 5 for longevity since it made my nose oily for at least 5 days but I am giving it a 1 because this product is terrible.

Price (1/5):
Also giving this a 1 because I would never buy this product, didn't matter what the price was.

Overall (1.5/5):
Would not buy this. I am really disappointed in Birchbox for giving this to me when I state that I have dry skin in my beauty profile.

You can get this at Birchbox for $22, but I wouldn't suggest it.Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038989276600338352.post-56155663724985779012012-04-11T09:43:00.049-07:002012-04-11T09:43:00.846-07:00Fyrinnae Lip Lustre Swatches & ReviewI have never tried anything from Fyrinnae before but I have been on a huge lip kick lately and decided to make my first purchase. The website says "Allow up to 24-30 business days queue and creation time before shipment." so I was expecting not to get my products for quite some time.

I placed my order on February 28th, I ordered 3 of their Lip Lustres. My total came to $19.75 after shipping. I received a shipping notification on March 1st, which I thought was pretty fast considering their "turn around time". I received the lustres on March 6th.

Stained my hands

Please keep in mind that these are not intended to be like lipgloss. This product is a non-sticky lipcolour, leaving moisturising colour on your lips but no goopy tackiness. Most shades are made to be relatively opaque, though some can be applied lightly over lipstick as a highlight or over balm as a sheer tint. They are a rather "dry" product because we pack as much colour into them as possible, but the ingredients are not drying. This means, due to the high concentration of natural butters, they are thinner in a warm environment, thicker when it's cool. Use care when opening if they have been cold (i.e; in a mailbox in winter). Lustres have a light vanilla scent.
Packaging (2.5/5):
I don't have a problem with the actual lip gloss tube, I have a problem with the label. It is like holographic or something and it makes it completely hard to read. I do however, really like the applicator. I don't feel like its a typical doe foot, it's more straight and it works out nicely.

Product (3/5):
Now part of this is completely my fault, I didn't read the blurb that I posted above before I ordered and never realized that they're not actually lip gloss, more of a lipstick type of color. This is a good thing for most people because they're INCREDIBLY pigmented and if you like purple/blue/green lips then pick these up but I was hoping they were more sheer. I have worn them with some gloss mixed in to make them a little less pigmented and it has worked out great. They're extremely light and soft, easy to apply but I do notice that if you have dry lips, it really enhances the dry lip features we all hate. Less Than Three is my favorite on the lips, the other 2 don't really match with my skintone. I was hoping that Fanservice would have been more like MACs "I <3 U" lipglass which is my favorite, but of course, those are more sheer, which I thought the lustres were going to be. I feel like Very Berry Happy is the worst of them all because it kind of cakes up on my lips and doesn't apply as nicely as the other 2.

Longevity (4/5):
I haven't worn these too long as I don't usually wear my lip stuff that long anyways but I have worn them 4+ hours with just slight fading. I really love how Less Than Three looks on my lips after slightly wiped off or "worn" down, it has a nice matte texture and just gives color to my lips rather than a sheen/shine/tell something is there.

Price (5/5):
These are only $6.00 a piece and even better, they're from an indie company which I think is important to support (obviously). You get 8ml of product in a 10ml tube which is a great deal.

Overall (3.62/5):
I think the product is great for what you pay for, I wish I just had chosen different colors. I do plan to buy some more when I get back from New York, I have my eye on Lollipop-pop, Romantique, and Ultra Phantom.

I have never been to New York before. I was supposed to go for my honeymoon in 2007 but it never worked out so I am BEYOND excited. This is something I have been wanting to do for YEARS and YEARS. I have been planning this for 8 months at least. I will be going with some great friends, Amber, Olivia and Piper.

We will be there for a week (from April 11-18) and will be hitting everything touristy we can. We will also be attending IMATS (International Makeup Artist Tradeshow) on Saturday the 14th so if you will be there, I would love to see you!!

So that is that, I already have some reviews and things pre-written so that this blog isn't totally bare for the week but if I don't answer comments and such, that is why!! Expect lots of pics too!Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038989276600338352.post-12519742665953135272012-04-09T08:26:00.000-07:002012-04-09T08:26:23.319-07:00Beauty Army April 2012This is my fourth month of Beauty Army and I am SO excited that they had much more items to choose from this time around. Granted, it was still more skincare but there were a few make up items there! I didn't choose all make up because a lot of it wouldn't work for me but props to BA! I am 100% happy with my box this time around. When I was going through the list, I wrote down 5 things I wanted and after tweaking my quiz, I was able to get all 5 things, success!

I apologize for the quality of the images. I took these at night because I wanted to use the mask so I had to take the pictures quickly!

Here is what I got in my box:

Lets go through each individual item:

ClickR No More Derma Drama - $20.00

I don't know if mine was used or what but the instructions say on your first use to click it 15 times to get the serum to the brush but mine had serum all over it already. It also feels pretty empty so I am not sure what to do with it. I emailed BA to see what they can do. I mainly got this for my husband. I don't really have skin that gets zits (thankfully) but he is always fighting them so I like to get him things like this. Plus this already paid for the box almost twice over, unless it is empty and used, gross.

Karuna Anti-Blemish Treatment Mask - $7.00

This was ok. I love sheet masks, they always make me look crazy. I didn't see anything exceptional about it that would make me want to spend $7 on one but it did leave my face feeling pretty moisturized.

Purely Cosmetics Pure Mineral Foundation - $5.00

I am not much of a fan of Purely Cosmetics, not the products themselves, but the owner. She was really rude to my mom at a show one time and it has always left a bad taste in my mouth. I did however, find this intriguing. I don't typically wear face products but I thought I would give this a try. I am getting into BB creams a lot lately so I need something new to set them with. The sample size is fairly small (5 gram jar) so it will be tricky to get out to use, but who doesn't love a challenge?

M.A.D Skincare Redness Rescue - $4.16

I got a sample pack of products straight from M.A.D and this is one item that I REALLY wanted to try, but of course didn't get so I was excited to see this on BA. I believe mine is broken though, I can't get anything out of it. The tube on the "sprayer" looks cut off or broken so I emailed BA to see what they can do for me. I have really red skin so I am hoping this will help a little.

Control Corrective Clear Med 5 % - $1.14

This is the one item that wasn't on my "NEED" list but it looked intriguing. I didn't get this because of the acne treatment, I got this because on the BA facebook they say its good for redness.

pur~lisse pur~lip comfort - $21.05

They were sending this out through myglam last month and I didn't get one. So glad I could get one through BA. It is a nice lip balm but I am not sure its worth $21.05 that a drugstore lip balm wouldn't do.
The breakdown:
I don't always have time to do a full review on every product so this will be a nice way to showcase them!

Hits:

Julep Maven Polish in Elizabeth (blue/bottom) - This was my favorite color of the 3 (2) I got last month, so gorgeous!!

Eye Rock Designer Liner - These were the item that I was kinda of eh about when I got my box and even though they're not my favorite and I wouldn't wear them on a regular basis, they were really fun to try!!

Mama Mio Boob Tube Bust & Neck Firmer - Silly, I know, but I actually really enjoyed this. I used this on my arms because well, who doesn't need help there? And I could see some great results. I have not tried it on my "breasts" or neck but I have heard it works great there too.

NYX Roll On Eye Shimmer in Nude - I really enjoyed this and have worn it several times since getting it!

Obliphica Hairkop Treatment - This made my hair feel great, however, I wouldn't purchase a full size. I just don't like hair care that much.

Amore Pacific Treatment Cleansing Foam - I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! Enough said.

Misses:

LA Fresh Eco-Beauty Waterproof Makeup Remover - These were TERRIBLE, incredibly oily!!

BENTA BERRY G-1 Moisturizing Face Cream - Another miss for BirchBox this month, made my skin really oiy. I have a review coming up of this next week!

LaRocca Skincare 24K Exfoliating Cleanser - Just wasn't impressed and every time I used it, I would get the little beads in my eye and it hurt. I've never had any problems with exfoliating beads before.

There were a lot of hits this month and that makes me excited!!Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038989276600338352.post-13300239446033087052012-04-05T15:46:00.000-07:002012-04-05T15:46:00.022-07:00Kiss My Sass "Lip Tint" Review & SwatchesBeth from Kiss My Sass Cosmetics is my go to person for any questions or problems in the make up business world. She is the only business owner I really know and have ever talked to. She buys from me and I buy from her, but of course that doesn't change the outcomes of either of our "reviews".

She donated a Lip Tint to the March OTM and I fell in love with it. When she released the permanent colors, I scooped them up! There are currently 4 available (5 if you include the one from the OTM) and I have all of them and have swatched them for you.

Before I get into the review and more specifics, let me show you some pictures:

Blood Poppy, Georgia Kiss, Bouroir, Coquette, Bad Reputation
Blood Poppy, Georgia Kiss, Bouroir, Coquette, Bad Reputation

Blood Poppy - shimmery orange. This is one of my favorites, I think it looks awesome on!

Georgia Kiss - peachy pink with shimmer. This is my favorite in formula. This is only available through the OTM for March and it is a different formula. It is so smooth and have a nice texture with a subtle yet gorgeous color pay off.

Bouroir - mauve/light berry with a golden sheen. This is also another one of my favorites, looks great on my lips (IMO).

Coquette - pale nude with shimmer that shifts from between pink & green. I thought this would be one of my favorites since it's more of a nude color and I tend to go for those but it's ok. It makes my lips look kind of white, it's not bad but not my favorite.

Bad Reputation - fuchsia/hot pink with blue sparkles. This is the one I was most excited about but it just didn't deliver for me. The texture is really grainy and it took about 10-15 swipes just to get the swatch I did on my hand. I know these aren't supposed to be BAM color but it's not supposed to hurt either.

Our Lip Tints are formulated with the same hand-made base as our Lip Balms so they are semi-soft, creamy and moisturizing. They have a very light scent and they glide on smoothly with a slight shine and a hint of color!

FULL SIZE: Standard Lip Balm Tube with approx. 4g Net Weight
SAMPLE: 5g Jar with approx. 1/2g Net Weight

Flavors: Most of the time the flavor is Marshamallow (a light sweet vanilla-like scent) but occassionally I will use a different flavor (mostly in the Limited Edition shades). Currently, our "flavors" are technically "lip-safe fragrances" as you can't really taste anything. I am working on finding new flavors that are actually flavored and I'll update this when I do!
Packaging (4/5):
These are a simple typical lip balm tube but they're black with pink lids. I think that is pretty unique and although I don't really shop about on other brands, I haven't seen them yet. The labels are easy to read and match the tube. Only complaint would be the label feeling, it gives me the shivers.

Product (4/5):
I am giving this a 4 because one of them just wasn't that great. I do prefer the "Georgia Kiss" formulation but that's just me. The new formulation isn't as smooth gliding but it's not a huge deal.

Longevity (5/5):
I find these to be moisturizing and last a while.

Price (5/5):
These are only $5 a piece. You can have the whole collection for $20 which you can get one and a quarter MAC lip glosses for that. They're extremely reasonably priced and of course it's supporting another smaller brand.

Overall (4.5/5):
LOVE THESE, and you should go pick up some!

You can get this at Kiss My Sass for $5.Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038989276600338352.post-28679679894848216862012-04-05T10:10:00.000-07:002012-04-05T10:10:18.803-07:00Sircle Samples!I was contacted by a sample company to have my products featured on their site and I thought you guys might enjoy this, since the main reason for my blog is sample boxes.

Sircle Samples isn't like your normal every day sample company, this one is FREE. You sign up, take surveys, add reviews and get points for your interactions. You can then take your "points", also called Sircle Coins, and purchase samples from companies.

When I joined, there was a nail polish, a moisturizer, a brush set and a face cream. They're JUST starting out so there aren't a lot of brands yet but this is the perfect time for you to start adding things and gaining up your points to get awesome things in the future.

You don't need tons of points to get things either, just for filling out your beauty profile you get 1000 points and most of the samples are in the 300-500 range, so you can get many samples and soon there will be some GDE shadows :)

Since they are new, the website is a little glitchy but you're not paying for anything so give them a few to work it out. Go on over to Sircle Samples and sign up! :)Glamour Doll Eyeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12355067480967227581noreply@blogger.com0
